The Children's Garden

Located behind the Amphitheatre and along Weeping Fig Avenue at Roma Street Parkland, The Children's Garden hosts two playground areas featuring a variety of play equipment.

Curious kids can explore the garden area, enjoying the blooming flowers and edible herbs, fruits and vegetables.

One playground area is more suited to younger children, recommended ages for play equipment is as follows;

  • All ages - tee pee, mushroom stools
  • 2 – 12 years - omni spinner, balance beam, log crawl tunnel
  • 5 – 12 years - discovery tree house, tunnel slide, bridge walk and log climber.

The second play area is designed for slightly older kids. The recommended age for play equipment is as follows;

  • All ages – chiming poles
  • 3+ years – basket swing
  • 4+ years – embankment slide
  • 5+ years – climbing structure, connecting nets, bridges, slide and rope climber.

Children can enjoy the innovative design of the area including bird-house inspired cubby houses and lookout towers, rope bridges, climbing nets, slides, a nest-style swing and beautiful greenery to explore, including a miniature fruit orchard.

The Children’s Garden aesthetic inspiration comes from its spectacular surrounds – natural elements and botanical features like tree frond feature poles, giant bromeliads, bamboo and a passion fruit tunnel are all woven into the design.
