Yura Tours welcomes visitors to their Island home and wishes to share their cultural knowledge and stories with you – where they lived and walked, how they foraged for traditional foods, what their creation stories are and how sacred the native flora and fauna are.
Yura Tours invites you to immerse yourself in the white sands, fresh air, spectacular coastal scenery and most of all, Quandamooka Culture.
Tour includes Welcome to Country, cultural talk based on the Quandamooka Aboriginal uses of the plants and trees through to home beach. Then an easy walk along the beach to Adder Rock to enjoy the South Passage creation dreamtime story whilst looking over the coral sea and over to Mulgumpin (Moreton Island). Depending on what the bush has to offer that day there may be some bush tucker to taste (we all know Minjerribah is plentiful).
Price: $79Be escorted by your very own Quandamooka Guide on a cultural walk to around the famous Gorge Walk at Mulumba (point Lookout). Learn about Minjerribah creation stories and its beautiful flora and its Aboriginal uses, Take in the majestic scenery and Magical Yallingbilla (Whale) performances as they pass right below you! The local Dolphins Kangaroos Turtles also love to hang around on our headlands and in the ocean.
Price: $89Pick up and drop off to accommodation or Ferry by Quandamooka guide. Head off to Bummiera (Brown lake) to experience a traditional Welcome to country and take in the beautiful surroundings connecting you to country.
Walk in their ancestors foots steps stopping in at Moongalaba / Terra Bulla (Old Mission Site) then onto Capemba (Myora Springs).
Next stop is the famous Mulumba (Point Lookout headland) to enjoy a guided cultural tour up around many headlands listening to creation stories, taking in the breathtaking views and learning about the different flora of the island and its aboriginal uses.
Head back towards Gumpi (Dunwich) stopping at the Gumpi Art galleries including Delvene Cookatoo Collins studio where you can find a piece of Minjerribah to take home.
